AS PER THE LETTER FROM THE MINISTER OF SPORTS, ARTS AND CULTURE,
DATED 26 AUGUST 2020, THE SAA MUSEUM IS NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
We are pleased to announce that the SAA Museum / Aviation Museum at Rand Airport in Germiston has re-opened to visitors.
Please note that we comply with the current lockdown regulations and apply separation distancing between people.
All people must please wear a prescribed mask and sanitise and/or regularly wash their hands thoroughly. No items may be touched.
The rule is: “Look but don’t touch!”.
IF YOU ARE POSSIBLY SICK THEN PLEASE DO NOT VISIT US, IF YOU ARE UNSURE.
THE RIGHT OF ADMISSION IS STRICTLY RESERVED.
You can view the inside of our famous Boeing 747 “LEBOMBO” at your leisure. A tour guide may possibly be on duty.
This aircraft performed the low-level fly-pasts over Ellis Park Stadium at the Rugby World Cup 1995 final match and thus made history.
The inspiring words: “GOOD LUCK BOKKE” are still visible underneath the wings and fuselage.
The other aircraft on display in the park can also be viewed.
Visitors are welcome to afterwards visit our revamped display hall and videos of our aircraft and aviation events may be viewed, if time allows.
Please feel free to contact us for more information, see below for details.
We look forward to welcoming you.
